A few weeks ago I went shopping with my mother and she bought a few things to give to my husband for christmas. Well we had a bit of a falling out a week ago so we haven't been talking. Well my brother came over and brought the kids gifts and gifts for me (even though we had a falling out) but the gifts my mother got for my husband she gave to someone else! I got a lot of things from her and so did our kids but my husband didn't get anything, I feel so horrible, I want to just call and tell her off! What do I do and how do I make my husband feel better and let him know I still love him and I'm sorry my mom is such a rude person?!
A little info on my mother: She use to beat me as a child but when I became an adult she told me sorry and cried with me and I forgave her. She's always had a crazy problem (she yells A LOT) and once my husband told her if she cannot control her yelling in front of our children she can no longer come around them (they would cry and run away from her when she would yell). She apologized and we told her she can come around again. My dad is always telling me she has major problems that's why he left her so long ago. My husband did nothing wrong to her so I don't know why she's like this! Just some advice would be good!What do you do if your mother didn't get your husband anything?
First of all...I'm sorry to hear about such a sad situation at Christmas. Ok that being said, first tell your husband how bad you feel (hopefully he understands that this is not your fault.) I would also consider telling your mom that you appreciate the gifts you and your children received from her, however, it really hurt your feelings that she decided to exclude your husband. Also, you said your mom has problems, it sounds like it may be time for her to look into getting some help. You may want to gently broch this topic with her as well. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and it's good that she says she's sorry...but you can only repeat a behavior so many times and say sorry for it repeatedly before people begin to wonder if you are truly sorry. Either she isn't sorry or she needs help to control herself. I truly hope things get better for you, hang in there.What do you do if your mother didn't get your husband anything?

Have a talk with your mother. Confront her with a calm attitude.
Take it slow and tell her how you feel. Communication really works.
If not, take her to Dr.Phil. See a family counselor.
If your mother could apologize to your husband, that will release all the tension. If your husband could apologize to your mother, also, that would make their relationship blossom.

Well, it's clear your mother has major problems and that's why she acts this way. So, you and your husband have to take it in stride and don't get upset about it. Your husband is right in protecting the kids from her yelling. I hope you are doing the same thing. Develop a sense of humor too.
Basically, continue to let her visit when she behaves, but not if she is abusive. Forget about your husband's presents. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it if she doesn't give gifts to you either. Or even the kids for that matter.
Just take what she has to offer that is good, and protect yourselves from the bad. Don't think about how she ';should'; be, because you have no power to change her.
Always be polite to her if at all possible.
This way, you can have the benefit of the best relationship with her that you can. Don't expect her to give more than she can or will. In fact, don't ';expect'; anything. Then everything good she does will be a pleasure for you, and you will never be disappointed.
I'm wondering why you think your mother's bad behavior would make your husband think you don't love him. If there is any reason for him to think that, you ought to reassure right now! Let him know you appreciate his protecting the kids. Tonight! While the kids are asleep. Go for it.

my ex husband and i have known each other for thirty years.he is 38 and so am i we have been on again and off again for 18yrs.as of now were off.he is married now but he left her for me 2yrs ago.and in that time i was diagnosed with breast cancer.while i was in chemo he was there but our finance was horrible so we lost our place.we moved seperatly with our familys and 2months ago he went back to his wife right when she was divorcing him and told my in-laws and myself that he could not bear to live with family anymore.but when i see him hes all over me.im still in radiation and i have had my surgery.so i feal just fine but im allways so depressed and sad about him.i will be in my new place soon.and i know that he will try to come back.but im scared if i take him back what if we go broke again what will he do.how do you fall out of love?What do you do when your a fool in-love?

Stress causes many cancers as a matter of fact. You don't need this man back in your life. You need to live for YOURSELF for once--and see how much healing from the inside and out will take place once you do. Let him go with his wife and don't take him back. I don't care if your mother's were in the same hospital giving birth at the same time and you knew each other for your whole 38 years of life. Sometimes you have to throw out the past and step boldly into the future. Don't cling to what makes you comfortable or safe. Sometimes finding true love is a risk that you have to take.What do you do when your a fool in-love?
I really wish you well through all of this. You need as much support as you can get.
You can't tell your heart what to do, it does what it wants. That is why you should ask the advice of others and follow it.

What is a good book about marriage?
I am looking for a book about marriages. Specifcally something like how to rekindle the flame, how to fall back in love, how to save your marriage, that sort of thing. I want a book that doesn't preach, doesn't condem certian things, and one that is a good read. I'm also a stay at home mom, so maybe something to do with how to focus on your husband and children, not just your kids. The book is about the idea that each person needs love in different ways - or in different languages. For instance, men usually show love by providing for their family. They think bringing home a paycheck or buying you something expensive is the correct way to show love. If you're the kind of woman who needs love shown in that way, then that's great. But if you're like most women, you need to have your husband bring you flowers for no reason, listen to you, be there for you...etc. This is an entirely different love language. It basically says it's important for your partner to learn how to speak your love language.

I believe it is best for a person to grow to love because when you learn to love, that means that they have accepted everything about that person, good and bad. Im really sorry that happend. Well it looks like you guys getting pregnant rushed the wedding a bit. Maybe he had feeling for you but he was not all the way to the love yet. If he married you is because he knew that you are the perfect person for him and that he was and would fall in love with you. He might of ';loved'; you but it took him a bit to fall ';In love'; it happends to everyone. Women tend to fall more rapidly and quicker than men do. If he married you is because he really did love you and it was probably hard for him to addmit. It happend to me too at the beginning of my relationship, my b/f just did not want to let his feelings go. he was scared, he was hurt before but I gave it time. We've been dating for now 4 years and now we are engaged. Maybe thats what happend to your husband. Just give time some time. Remembering past loves. Fair to your life partner?
I'm a pretty rational person, and I love my husband and plan to always be with him. Yet I often have very vivid dreams about a particular past love, that won't stop recurring. Every so often, like once a year, or two years, I start thinking about him and wondering how he is and what went wrong with us or rather what could have been. I cant stop this happening. Does anyone else have this? I have to say again I am totally happy and settled with my husband. But in a way, I had to choose between the two as I met them and fell in love around withing the same year (complicated). And I don't use the work 'love' lightly as I have only had 2 real loves in my life, although I have had plenty of other boyfriends. What are your thoughts?Remembering past loves. The fact of the matter is, your past is part of your life, and it cannot be erased. It should be fair to your life partner when you remember things like past boyfriends. If he loves you, he will embrace your past as well. And if he really does love you, he wouldn't question anything or be uncomfortable with things like this. As for thinking about other past loves and what to do about it, go with the flow is my approach. Thinking too much can really confuse your brain and you won't react rationally after a while(without being conscious of it) and you'll regret it later. That's normal because everyone has past loves in their life. Everyone dreams about them.
Husbands realize we women have had past loves that we always remember and they accept it. Mine does.
My husband knows about my past 2 loves and I know about his three. It's in the past and we never forget the past. We always dream about the past.
Every year I dream/think about my first fiance who was murdered in 1993. Then there is my first ';partner'; whom I dated for four months who I wonder about, but know has been married for the past seven years to someone who tolerates him.
I met my husband months after my first fiance died and after I knew my first ';partner';. My first ';partner'; never loved me back, but my first fiance was my soulmate. I love my husband, but not the same way I loved my soulmate. I hope that makes sense.

You had only two real loves in your life. The reason why the previous one keeps popping
up in your memory is because it did have the chance to mature and metamorphose into habit. The actual one has become a piece of museum.
I hope you don't share your memories with your husband because he might decide to rush you into a change from an old fantasy into a new reality which will cause you a lot of pain.
